The Student Centre at Northampton Square brings together a comprehensive range of support activities, making them easily accessible to our students.

The Student Centre is recognised by the Institute of Customer Service (ICS), which is the independent professional body for customer service.

 

The Learning Success team is also located in the Student Centre and provides a range of specialist services aimed at enhancing the learning experience of students across the University. For more information about their services, see Learning Success @ The Student Centre.

 

The Student Centre employs a team of dedicated Advisers, and is the first point of contact for information about the following areas:

Housing

  • Applying for university halls of residence.
  • Advice and guidance on private sector accomodation.front desk in the student centre

Financial Support

  • City University Bursary Scheme.
  • University scholarships and prizes.
  • Applying for government access to learning funds.
  • Advice and guidance on budgeting.

International Student Support

  • Visa and immigration advice.
  • Pre-arrival information.
  • Information about the international student welcome event.

Payment of Fees

  • Students can pay tuition and accommodation fees in the Student Centre, as well as purchasing replacement University ID cards and photocopy cards.  (Please note that cash transactions are limited to a maximum of £30.00 per person, but there is no limit on payments made by cheque, credit or debit card.)

Student Appeals and Complaints

  • Information on the correct process to follow for academic appeals.
  • How to obtain student representation, and what to do if you want to make a complaint.

Student Adviser Services

Student Advisers can also provide information and advice on other University services and events, including:

  • course registration procedures 
  • E-Learning and Cityspace
  • employment and careers workshops
  • graduation ceremonies
  • induction arrangements
  • replacement degree certificates
  • resit and special needs exams
  • University Libraries and Computing Services

 

You can visit the Student Centre Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 5.30pm
(10.30am to 5.30pm on Thursdays).
