Undergraduate and Pre-Registration Students: Term Dates 2023/24

Autumn term: 28 August 2023 - 08 January 2024 with main student activity 02 October 2023 – 18 December 2023
- Holidays: 28 August 2023 - 25 September 2023
- Student induction/ Welcome Week (stage one students only): 25 September 2023 – 29 September 2023
- Teaching: 02 October 2023 - 15 December 2023
- Holidays: 18 December 2023 - 08 January 2024
Spring term: 08 January 2024 – 06 May 2024, with main student activity 08 January 2024 - 15 April 2024
- Assessment period: 08 – 26 January 2024 [programmes with no assessments at this time may incorporate other learning activities, including teaching, during this period]
- Teaching: 29 January 2024 - 15 April 2024
- Holidays: 15 April 2024 – 06 May 2024
Summer term: 06 May 2024 - 23 August 2024, with main student activity 06 May 2024 - 24 June 2024
- Assessment period: 06 May 2024 - 31 May 2024 OR Teaching (and related assessments)
- Summer Term activity (applicable to certain programmes only – students should refer to their programme handbook): 03 June 2024 – 24 June 2024
- Holidays: 03 June 2024 - 12 August 2024 for programmes with no summer term activity; 24 June 2024 – 12 August 2024 for programmes with summer term activity

There may be variations to the above term dates for some programmes in the School of Health & Psychological Sciences, Professional Law, some Bayes Business School programmes and Urdang Professional Dance and Musical Theatre.

Closure days
Please note that the following days are bank holidays in the UK and the University will be closed:
- 25th December 2023 (Christmas Day)
- 26th December 2023 (Boxing Day)
- 1st January 2024
- 29th March 2024 (Good Friday)
- 1st April 2024 (Easter Monday)
- Please note that Easter closure days are not inclusive to the Spring term holiday period.
- 6th May 2024 (Early May Bank Holiday)
- 27th May 2024 (Spring Bank Holiday)
- 26th August 2024 (Summer Bank Holiday)
In addition, the University closes for an extended period over Christmas: 22nd December 2023 - 1st January 2024 inclusive.
