Welcome to Sport at City

From representing City at competitive sports to participating in our social sports programme; CityActive, there’s lots of ways for you to get involved.

Whether you are a complete beginner to a sport, have represented your school/college or even played at county and national level, we have opportunities for you to participate, including getting involved in one of our many sports clubs here at City, University of London Students’ Union.

Many of our sports teams compete in either British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) leagues or the London Universities Sports Leagues (LUSL) and play against teams from other universities on either Wednesday afternoons or weekends.

To join one of City's teams you'll need to attend trials which will be taking place from Monday 25 September - Sunday 1 October. To find your sport's trial dates, you can head to the Get Involved page of the Student Groups.

We appreciate your studies are important to you, which may be the main reason you’ve chosen to attend City, University of London. However, we also believe that taking time away from your books to relax and remain healthy in body and mind is also essential, and what better way to do this than by getting involved in social sport?

Our CityActive programme is a great way to meet new friends from other courses and to try out new activities in a fun and friendly environment. Getting involved will not only add to your social network, it will also provide great opportunities to develop skills for your future.

If you're interested in one of the many sports activities on offer, come along to the welcome fair taking place on Monday 25 September at the Business Design Centre in Islington from 10:00 - 17:00. You’ll have the opportunity to speak with the sports team captains and the wider Students’ Union team about getting involved and how to join.

We will also be at the Sports Fair taking place on Tuesday 26 September from 11:00 - 16:00 at CitySport.

City Students’ Union is an inclusive environment, and we welcome everyone to join our sports programme, regardless of gender background or faith.
