
Howard Tumber joined City University in 1988 and is Professor of Sociology in the Department of Sociology. He was Dean of the School of Social Sciences for five years 1999-2004. Previous to that he was Head of the Department of Sociology 1996-1999. He is the author of seven books and has published widely in the field of the sociology of news and journalism, His recent work concerns the role of journalists and the reporting of international conflict.
