Why study sociology at City?
- We are one of the largest and best-known sociology departments in London. In 2010/11 we had 450 students from 64 countries taking our undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees

News
- An Economic & Social Research Council grant of £289,318 has been awarded to Professor Alice Bloch from City's Department of Sociology and Professor Sonia McKay (Working Lives Research Institute, London Metropolitan University) to carry out a study, 'Undocumented Migrants, Ethnic Enclaves and Networks: Opportunities, traps or class-based constructs'. The research began in October 2011 and is for two years.
