What next for BSc graduates?
A psychology degree is widely recognised as an excellent introduction to many careers. You learn key skills including the evaluation of ideas and evidence, written and oral presentation skills, and sophisticated understanding of numerical data.
A significant proportion of our graduates follow further training in professional psychology and students also pursue careers in teaching, social services, industry and management, human resources, marketing and many other professions.
What next for MSc and DPsych graduates?
Counselling Psychology graduates of the course are typically employed in a variety of settings, including NHS primary, secondary or tertiary care, the prison service, schools and voluntary agencies.
Employers of recent graduates include: South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, Central and North West London NHS Trust, Imperial College London, Roehampton University, London Metropolitan University, Homerton University Hospital, The Priory and Capio Nightingale Hospital.
Organisational Psychology graduates have been employed as recruitment consultants, associate occupational psychologists, researchers, management consultants, training consultants, organisational change practitioners, and career consultants in organisations such as KPMG, the Home Office, Department for Work and Pensions, SHL, CGR, Egan-Strang Consulting, Ford UK and American Express. In addition, several recent graduates have gone on to complete PhDs.
Health Psychology. The MSc Health Psychology/Psychology and Health constitutes Stage 1 of professional health psychology training. Graduates are eligible to apply for Stage 2 training or they may seek employment in research or teaching. Health psychology is a fairly new and evolving area, and is often seen as the practice and application of psychological methods to the study of behaviour relevant to illness and health care. There are a number of career pathways including professional consultancy, academic postings and working within the NHS.
