Facilities

The Department of Psychology is located within the landmark Social Sciences Building, opened in 2004.

The building's facilities include purpose-built computer rooms supported by a dedicated team, experimental labs (see below) and 15 classrooms.

The building serves as a social as well as an academic hub: in the atrium is the Social Sciences café, serving drinks, hot food and snacks - perfect for catching up with colleagues between lectures and classes.

Glass-fronted academic staff offices, bright and airy spaces, and occasional art exhibitions all contribute to a welcoming, attractive, modern teaching and learning environment for all Economics students.

Psychology Computer Laboratory (D518)

This suite of 40 computers is primarily for the use of Psychology students and staff for their experimentation and data analysis.

At certain times they are available to other users of the building (please refer to the notices at the doors).

This suite is not part of the university pool of open access computers rooms.

School of Social Science students are able to use these computers subject to availability once they have registered with the City University Computer Service (CS) and obtain a username and password.

Please refer to the signage for availability and refer to the room timetable for a guide to availability.

Code of Conduct

You must observe the code of conduct set out here if you wish to use the Schools' Computer facilities.

Print credits are available from the Computer Services Shop in Northampton Square.

When D518 is closed or in use there are Computing Services computer rooms available in a number of other locations around the University.

24-hour labs

PLEASE NOTE - the PCs in E217, E222 and E223 are available 24 hours a day.
