Applicants holding an offer will be invited to attend a departmental visit day.
Alternatively, you may wish to book a place on a campus tour which run on Wednesdays during term time.
When do I make my firm and insurance choice of universities?
It depends on when you made your application and when you receive responses from all the universities to which you applied. UCAS will notify you of when you need to reply to the universities that have made an offer to you. For further details please visit the UCAS site.

After accepting City University as your firm or insurance choice you will recieve a letter of confirmation from both City University and UCAS. You will be sent regular e-mail updates from the School throughout the admissions process.
When I receive my exam results, how will I find out if my place is confirmed?
When we receive confirmation of your exam results, we will inform UCAS of the outcome of your application. Please check your UCAS Track account to find out whether your place has been confirmed.
What if I fail to meet the conditions of the offer?
If you have marginally failed to meet the conditions of your offer, we may reconsider your application and offer you a place on the course you want to join if places are available. You should get in touch with the School of Social Sciences either by phone (020 7040 8502) or by emailing socsciug@city.ac.uk.
What happens when my place has been confirmed?
In August you will be invited to register on-line and we will send you details of registration and induction events. Teaching starts on Monday, 26 September 2011 and there will be induction activities in the preceding week.
What is induction week?
In the week before teaching starts a range of activities is organised to help you familiarise yourself with the University and the facilities available to you. You will be provided with essential information on your chosen course and you will also meet your personal tutor. There will also be sessions designed specifically for international students. Details on the induction programme for your course will be sent to you in August but will also be available in our new students section.
Can I defer my year of entry or change my course?
If you wish to change your choice of degree programme or year of entry, please contact our admissions office, details are below. Course entry can be deferred for a maximum of one year. Please note that all course changes and deferrals are subject to places being available.
How much are the tuition fees?
Fees can be found on the individual course webpages.
How do I pay my fees?
You will be required to pay your fees or to have made arrangements to pay your fees either when registering on-line or during induction week.
How do I know whether I will be required to pay the home (UK/EU) or overseas student fees?
The UK Government subsidises students from the UK and EU. Unfortunately this funding is not available to students who are assessed as overseas.
Your fee status is assessed by the University. All universities must determine student's fee status on an individual basis, with reference to the information provided by the applicant on their UCAS form. In some cases additional information may be requested.
Please contact our Central Admissions Office on +44 (0)20 040 8716 or e-mail if you have a query relating to your fee status. Further details can be also be found on our Fees Assessment page.
