Overview

Lizzy Gatrell has been working in the Centre for Comparative Social Surveys at City since May 2011 as a Researcher on the European Social Survey.

She is closely involved in the design and coordination of the European Social Survey (ESS) and is a member of the ESS Central Coordinating Team. She is also involved in a wide range of activities related to the ESS including helping to design new questions for the survey, pre-testing questions and monitoring fieldwork in a number of countries.

Lizzy has a BA honours degree in Social Psychology from the University of Sussex, and an MSc in Social Research Methods from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

She has a particular interest in attitudes toward terrorism, and has conducted both quantitative and qualitative research into the subject. She has previously worked as a Researcher for Adult Health and Wellbeing at the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, specialising in exploring the needs of older people, adults with learning disabilities and carers. She has also previously worked as a Research Intern at the housing charity Shelter.
