Snapshot is a great way to explore different types of careers that you are interested in. It will look great on your CV!

Graduation date: 2014

What Snapshot activities did you take part in?

I have been participating with the Snapshot scheme for the past two years at City. I have taken part in a number of Snapshot Challenges which are not only team building exercises but also provide valuable tips and advice for recruitment procedures. I have been to a number of Snapshot Insights in work sectors I have been interested in.

What did you enjoy most about it?

The Snapshot Insights have been a very good experience. I have been able to meet professionals ranging from the Law Enforcement Industry to HR Professionals. The Industry Insight team have been great in connecting me to so many professionals that I would not have had the opportunity to do so myself. These professionals are lovely and very keen to give you as much advice as possible.

How will this experience help you in your future career?

The Snapshot scheme has helped me in two ways; it has made me more aware of roles, practises and the pros and cons of the particular work roles I have been interested in. Taking these insights on board, will now enable me to make a more thorough action plan of what I need to do to achieve my desired job. Secondly, the Snapshot challenges gave me the opportunity to experience recruitment procedures such as mock assessments- something that I have not experienced before. These challenges come with feedback too, which is good since in real practise this is not provided. Overall, I feel this has made me confident for the future.

Why would you recommend other students join the Snapshot Scheme?

I would definitely recommend students to join the Snapshot Scheme to develop personally and professionally. It's a great way to explore different types of careers that you are interested in or are applicable to your degree. Also, recruiters love meeting students who are proactive, aware and motivated; which is what this scheme will definitely instil in you. It will look great on your CV!

What do you want to do after university?

After a well-deserved holiday, I will be applying to graduate schemes.
