Saeed worked as a Web Developer for Cass Business School, applying the knowledge gained throughout his degree.

Why did you decide to do a placement while at City, University of London?

To gain valuable experience, and apply knowledge gained throughout my degree in a work environment.

Where was your placement and what was your role?

I was placed at Cass Business School as a Web Developer. I was responsible for maintaining the university's 100,000 page website. I created and set up template pages using CSS, HTML and JavaScript for web editors within the Content Management System (CMS), as well as developing several systems, including a room booking application.

What has been the most important thing gained from your placement?

  • Improved technical skills such as: HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Lotus Domino Notes.
  • Other skills gained: Project management, requirements gathering and troubleshooting issues.

What did you do after graduating?

I began working as a PHP Developer for a global media agency.

Anything else you would like to highlight about City?

The Professional Pathway scheme is what made me join City University London. It suited my learning style perfectly; allowing me to apply the knowledge and skills gained throughout my degree in a practical environment.
