BSc Computer Science BSc (Hons)

Labinot says one of the main reasons he chose City University London was the university's high employment rate for its graduates.

Why did you decide to do a placement while at City, University of London?

Because Accenture gave me the opportunity to travel and try out different industries like, Finance, Government, Telecoms, Media etc. I felt it was the best option for me personally as I love to travel and meet new people.

Where was your placement and what was your role?

I was a Software Engineer at Accenture but throughout the year I had a number of different roles such as Analyst, Delivery Analyst, Web Developer.

What has been the most important thing gained from your placement?

The most important thing I gained from the placement was knowing which industry I wanted to be in, which is Telecommunications. Because Telecoms allows me to do all of the things I have a passion for such as networks, web development and security. Also the reason I did a placement was to help me differentiate myself from my peers who would be graduating with the same degree, showing potential employers I had previous experience which is very important.

What did you do after you graduating?

After graduating I joined Accenture, because I felt I Accenture was the perfect place for me to grow as an individual but more importantly as a professional. I believe Accenture will also allow me to travel and be at the forefront of cutting edge technology, whether that be in developing or deploying that technology.

Anything else about City or your placement you would like to add?

Overall the placement was great for me personally because it allowed me to explore new industries, which I hadn't thought about before but it also helped me obtain a graduate job which was my main objective after completing my degree. Actually one of the reasons I choose City was because of its high employment rate for its graduates.
