City University London was my first choice due to its quality of education. I also felt I would receive a more attentive education here.

Why did you choose to study at City, University of London?

City was my first choice as a university due to its quality of education. I felt that at City I would receive a more attentive education and be more than just a number for university statistics.

What do you enjoy most about your course?

What I enjoy the most about this course is its versatility. The EME student has the opportunity to not only practice in different areas of engineering but also get a taste of business and management modules. In effect, one gets to build a solid engineering background with an entrepreneurial understanding that will form well rounded graduates ready for any working environment.

What has been your favourite module and why?

Engineering Drawing and Design has become my favorite module over this first year. Although this module is generally difficult because the drawings are time consuming and there are many drawing standards to learn, I find it interesting and enjoyable, which inspired me to work hard so as to improve as much as possible.

What has been a highlight of your course so far?

A highlight of my course was the business plan we had to build in our first semester for the Management and Entrepreneurship module. Working with students from third year, we had to come up with an idea for a career website. It was intimidating, as first years, to build and present a business plan without much experience. Furthermore, it was very difficult to come up with a unique idea that would make our website stand out from the numerous career sites online. This was an amazing first project nonetheless and I have learnt to take up projects that may at first seem beyond my capabilities with more confidence.

What do you plan to do after you graduate?

After graduation, I wish to further enhance my education by undertaking a Masters in business and finance.
