Community Volunteering is a great way of meeting new people, it makes you feel confident and most importantly makes you feel good

What type of volunteering project were you involved in?

January 2013 - present : PC Pal for Elderly - Volunteer (IT Experience)
• Assisting elderly clients in the introduction of computer services
• Introducing them to the concept and use of e-commerce
• Enabling them to facilitate the use of email and online search portals

What did you enjoy most about it?

I enjoyed meeting new people, week by week and meeting challenging clients to work with.

What skills did you gain through this experience?

I learnt a variety of skills such as communication skills, and ICT skills.

Why would you recommend other students take part in Community Volunteering?

It's a great way of meeting new people, it makes you feel confident and most importantly makes you feel good.

What do you want to do after university?

I hope to find a job within the ICT field, possibly a Business Analyst role.
