PhD Title: RT and Russian soft power and public diplomacy: characteristics, patterns, goals. A study of RT website content in Russian and English.

Brief description of research topic

Sasha's research focuses on RT, media channel previously known as Russia Today, and it's role as the country's soft power tool, as well as it' role in the country's public diplomacy. The research looks at the website content of the channel's English and Russian branches to see how soft power and public diplomacy are executed when aimed at different audiences.

Education

Undergraduate: equivalent of a First-class Honours degree from the Saint Petersburg State University in Journalism (2011) (Russian 'Specialist' degree, Mark: 5 /excellent/); Postgraduate: Master of Arts degree (Mark: 70, Merit) from City University London in International Journalism (2014).
