About

Background

Following getting a diploma as Mechanical Engineer at National Technical University of Athens (NTUA Greece, 1992), Andreas Theodorakakos got his PhD from the Fluids Section of the same institution (1998). The topic of his PhD Thesis was related to the development of a fully 3-D Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) solver able to simulate the flow in complex geometries (internal combustion (IC) engines). During his PhD he has participated in many EU research programs. In the following years he was sponsored by many companies mainly in the automotive sector for research in the field (CFD in IC cylinder, spray simulations, nozzle simulations etc.). In 2010 was appointed Research Fellow in the School of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences in City University.
