Expert contact lens fitting and aftercare
We are able to undertake the fitting of a wide range of contact lenses for both normal and specialised cases in the Acuvue Contact Lens Suite. In the case of disposable soft lenses, we are normally able to offer a free trial for a short period.
In order to ensure the continued health of the eyes, it is essential that all contact lens wearers attend for regular after-care examinations and these are undertaken without charge both to those fitted at City University and those who have been fitted elsewhere. (Free aftercare and fitting only applicable in the student clinic)
Some patients are eligible for National Health Service (NHS) vouchers and these can be accepted in part payment for the lenses.
All appointments are in the teaching clinic where students are closely supervised by University staff and by visiting clinicians who are all registered Optometrists with extensive experience of contact lens practice. The appointment slot is for 2 hours, but may take less depending on the occasion. During vacation periods we offer a limited service for any problems that may occur. Contact lenses: very competitive rates and a reduction for students
