How to find City University London

Journey Planner

By tube

The nearest underground stations are Angel and Old Street on the Northern line (Bank Branch) and Barbican and Farringdon on the Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan and Circle lines. The main campus at Northampton Square is about 10-15 minutes walk from all these underground stations.

By bus

Route numbers 4, 19, 30, 38, 43, 55, 56, 63, 73, 153, 205, 214, 243, 274, 341 will take you close to the University.  Plan your journey with the Transport for London Journey Planner.

By train

From any train station in London you can use the underground or bus network to reach the University. Transport for London's Journey Planner can help you find the best route.

By air

Gatwick and Luton Airports: The First Capital Connect rail service connects Gatwick and Luton airports with Farringdon station. Trains run every 30 minutes and the journey takes 45 minutes.


Heathrow Airport: Heathrow is on the London Underground network. From Heathrow take the Piccadilly line to King's Cross St Pancras and change there to reach Angel, Old Street, Barbican or Farringdon underground stations. The journey from Heathrow to King’s Cross St Pancras takes one hour.

Alternatively the Heathrow Express train runs from Heathrow to Paddington Station in 15 minutes. From Paddington take the underground (Circle or Hammersmith & City line) to Farringdon or Barbican stations.


London City Airport: London City airport is on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) network which connects to the London underground. Take the DLR train to Bank station and change to the underground Northern line for Old Street or Angel stations.


Stansted Airport: Take the Stansted Express train to Liverpool Street station. Trains run every 15 minutes and the journey takes about 45 minutes. From Liverpool Street take the underground (Circle, Metropolitan or Hammersmith & City lines) to  or Farringdon stations.

By car

Almost all City’s sites are within the congestion charging zone and drivers are liable to an £8 daily charge between 07.00 and 18.00 on weekdays.

 

Parking in the roads surrounding Northampton Square is at parking meters. The nearest National Car Park to Northampton Square (EC1V 0HB) is on Pear Tree Street, off Goswell Road. If you require disabled parking please contact us at opendays@city.ac.uk.
