On the panel:

Sami Zubaida is Professor of Politics and Sociology at Birkbeck College University of London and a specialist in the religion, culture and politics of the Middle East. He is author of Beyond Islam: A new understanding of the Middle East; Law and Power in the Islamic World and Islam, the People and the State.

Mina Toksoz: is Head of Country Risk at Standard Bank, responsible for the analysis of Emerging markets outside of Sub-Saharan Africa. She has been covering the Middle East since the 1980s when she worked as Middle East editor at The Economist magazine's Economics Intelligence Unit.
