The City Law School launch LLM in Athens.
Over 30 key figures from Greece’s legal and shipping community attended the launch of The City Law School’s LLM in Maritime Law last week in Athens. The event featured addresses by Anna Katsoulaki, a lecturer for The City Law School’s LLM in Maritime Law; Chris Ryan, The City Law School’s director of academic programmes; and Anthony Rogers, course director.
The City Law School is delivering modules off its Maritime Law LLM for the first time in Greece, the centre of Europe’s shipping industry. Some of the modules, that will be taught in Athens, are designed for students who work full-time, as they will be delivered in weekend blocks, running in both March and September 2009.
All of the modules delivered in Greece will be taught in English, making them suitable for all nationalities to study, and will cover: Carriage of Goods by Sea; Admiralty Law; Marine Insurance; International Sales Law; and World Trade Law.
Anna Katsoulaki, a lecturer for The City Law School’s LLM in Maritime Law, says: “We will be able to provide our students with an excellent insight into the Greek shipping industry through our links with shipping firms and those specialising in Maritime Law. The LLM in Maritime Law is a unique qualification, reflecting The City Law School’s outstanding reputation in this field.”
Anthony Rogers, the Director of the LLM in Maritime Law says: “City already attracts a large number of Greek students to the wide-ranging courses that it offers. This is a great opportunity for The City Law School to offer some of the modules to students who have employment or family commitments in Greece.”
