City aerodynamicists filmed for forthcoming BBC Two programme

Research led by BAE Systems Sir Richard Olver Chair in Aeronautical Engineering, Professor Christoph Bruecker, will be the focus of a Natural World episode.

Christoph BrueckerThe month of October 2016 has been memorable for aerodynamics research at City.

A production team from the BBC Two programme Natural World, filmed a team of researchers, led by BAE Systems Sir Richard Olver Chair in Aeronautical Engineering, Professor Christoph Bruecker.

Bio-inspired modelling

AerodynamicsDemonstrating Professor Bruecker’s studies in the bio-inspired modelling of a peregrine falcon’s flow, the film crew filmed the bird's diving flight off the cliffs in the North Lake District and at the wind tunnel facilities in City’s Handley Page Aeronautical Engineering Laboratory.

The programme will be aired in 2017.
