City's Professional Liaison Unit students featured in key industry publication

Student placements draw attention to valuable work of the Unit across the Schools of Informatics, Engineering and Mathematics

Through the work of the Professional Liaison Unit (PLU) which operates across the Schools of Engineering, Mathematics and Informatics, undergraduate students Vishaan Mohindra and Sarah Ancelotti recently secured work placements with well-regarded employers.

College building face onVishaan and Sarah also had the opportunity to share their respective experiences in the widely-read Prospects Work Experience and Internships magazine.

The PLU offers a variety of work-based learning programmes tailored to meet the varying requirements of students and employers through the provision of placements, internships and work-based learning. The PLU also manages the Professional Development in IT module, which is designed to assist students to enhance their employability and plan for success helping students to bridge the gap between education and employment. 

Alex Elkins, PLU manager, says:

"The magazine article gives some insight into how our students can apply their skills and knowledge in industry. It's great to see Sarah and Vishaan working on interesting and high priority projects across very different fields. These are excellent examples of the talent that we have here at City and amply demonstrates what our students are capable of doing."
