Ian Pace, lecturer at City's Centre for Music Studies, will be taking part in a number of events in March and April.

Spring events

  • Friday 16 March: Piano recital at Anglia Ruskin University

    Featuring works of Chopin, Debussy, and ARU composer Paul Rhys (two works, both of which were premiered by Ian).

  • Friday 30 March: Lecture recital at Ligeti Conference London on 'Ligeti's Later Music', Ligeti's Études for piano

  • Saturday 31 March: Conference paper on 'Tempo and its Modification in the Music of Brahms from Primary Sources and Evidence of Early Performers' at conference 'Über das Forteilen und Zurückhalten. Zur Tempogestaltung in der Musik des frühen 19. Jahrhunderts', Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler, Berlin.

  • Tuesday 3 April: Performance of Schumann Arabeske op. 18

    Launch event, Royal College of Music, for Colin Lawson and Robin Stowell (eds), The Cambridge History of Musical Performance (Cambridge: CUP, 2012).

    Ian has contributed a chapter entitled 'Instrumental Performance in the Nineteenth Century'.

Summer events

In July and August 2012 Ian will be giving concerts in Santiago, Chile, and Buenos Aires, Argentina.
