City's Student Centre recognised with a prestigious customer service award

The 'Services to Students Award' was presented at the National WOW! Awards Ceremony
by

nullThe team behind City University London's Student Centre has won the national WOW! Award for 'Services to Students'. The accolade recognises teams that have helped and guided students to success, given their complete commitment to delivering excellent service and recognised the diversity of student needs.

It is the UK's only national award scheme which relies purely on customer nominations. Direct feedback from students about their experiences of the Student Centre were assessed in order to select the award recipient. Nominations for WOW! awards are judged throughout the year with each month's winners being given the chance to enter the annual national awards.

The 2012 awards ceremony took place at The Brewery in London where judges described the staff at City's Student Centre as "a very progressive team providing exceptional service to their customers".  City University London's Director of Services for Students, John Tibble commented:

"This level of national recognition is a great achievement for the team particularly because it is solely due to the quality of the nominations from our students. Their feedback has resulted in many individual members of staff winning individual acknowledgement for their exceptional work".

Student Adviser, Agata Lambrechts, was a finalist in the hotly contested "Most Inspiring Front Liner" category. Agata joined City three years ago, combining work in the Student Centre with studying part-time for a Law degree. She graduated with a First last year and is now enrolled on the MA in International Politics and Human Rights at City.
