City University London to host prestigious IEEE Software Editorial Board on 27 and 28 June 2012

City is the venue for a meeting to take a leading engineering publication into the future.

21/06/2012

nullCity University London's Professor of Systems Engineering, Neil Maiden, will play host to fellow members of the Editorial Board of the esteemed publication, IEEE Software, at City on 27 and 28 June 2012.

The Editorial Board meeting will centre on the future of the publication over the next five years. The Board will discuss IEEE Software's transition to an interactive and digital format that will include the greater use of blogs, podcasts and video.

The Editorial Board meeting will follow the annual IEEE Software Experts Summit 2012, taking place at the British Computer Society's London office on 26 June. This one-day Summit, entitled "Mastering Uncertainty in the Software Industry: Risks, Rewards and Reality", will address the level of uncertainty and complexity, as well as the rate of change compelling the software community to adapt its development approaches for successful outcomes.

The Summit will feature presentations from leading industry figures, authors and IEEE Software Editorial Board members such as: Groupon's Michael Feathers; Microsoft's Principal Strategist, Mike Andrews; and Forrest Shull, IEEE Software's Editor-in-Chief and senior scientist at the Fraunhofer Centre for Experimental Software Engineering.

According to Professor Maiden, who heads the Centre for HCI Design in the School of Informatics and is also Associate Editor (Requirements) for IEEE Software's Requirements Column:

"It is doubly pleasing that London is this year's host city for an auspicious gathering of prestigious software engineering experts at the IEEE Software Experts Summit 2012 and that I will be hosting fellow board members at City University London. This indeed serves to reinforce City's growing reputation in software engineering research".
