Research support

Research support from Library Services

Library Services offer a range of support for doctoral and other research students and staff. This includes managing the content of City's institutional repository, City Research Online.

Research Librarians

Contact our Research Librarians for help with library-related research enquiries. We offer appointments for one-to-one training and group workshops throughout the year. We can help with literature searching techniques; how to track down resources for your research; effective use of reference management tools; and correct citing and referencing.

Further support is available through our Library Guides:

  • Library Services for Research provides information on research resources, research impact, current awareness, managing information, sharing research and using other libraries.
  • Subject guides introduce you to key resources in your area

City Research Online

City Research Online (CRO) is City’s institutional repository providing free access to research produced by City academics.  Our guide gives more information about CRO and open access, including all the benefits of making your research available online.

For more information about CRO and open access please see our City Research Online guide.

Timely deposit of your research in CRO will ensure that you can submit your research to the next Research Excellence Framework (REF). The policy is summarised in our City Research Online and REF guide.
