SCONUL Access allows students from other institutions to visit City libraries and in the case of Postgraduate students and staff from many institutions, they may apply for borrowing membership.

If you are eligible to apply for SCONUL Access at your home University or College, then you must use this in order to visit us.

Where an institution only approves SCONUL Access Band A applications (for academic staff and research postgraduates), the University of London Libraries Access Agreement provides for reference access to the federal libraries as a supplement to the SCONUL scheme.

When visitors’ reference access to City libraries is restricted (e.g. during the main Undergraduate exam periods), University of London students will not be eligible for access under this scheme.

Access will not be permitted under the University of London Libraries Agreement between 24 December 2016 - 20 January 2017 and 24 April - 2 June 2017.
