Resources

At the Learning Development Centre (LDC), we help support and facilitate resources for staff (and students) to use in the course of their work and study.

The MILL

The Media and Innovation Learning Lab (The MILL) focuses on staff development in audio and video production. It provides editing facilities, TV studios and and teaching rooms located in E201 in the Drysdale building. We also provide training that focuses on the use and production of video and audio tools.

Personal and Professional Development Planning
Personal and professional development planning is a structured and supported process undertaken by an individual to reflect upon their own learning, performance and achievement. PDP is for staff supporting students, and there is further information on how the LDC can help facilitate this in the PDP section.

User Groups and Networks

We facilitate various user groups and networks for staff with an interest in specific areas of our work.  They are a great forum in which to share and discuss ideas with colleagues, and provide the opportunity to feed into the development of that area of work in the University.

Emergency Preparedness

If you are concerned about how to deal with staff absence and how to deal with distance learning technologies in the event of an emergency then please read our Pandemic Preparedness guide.

Library

Located in AG24 is a lending library of education-related journals and books; please email ldc@city.ac.uk to learn more or to arrange a look at our titles, or browse our online catalogue. The LDC Library is available in person and most of our content is also available online.

Educational Wiki

The LDC provides an educational wiki containing articles, videos, and other information related to teaching learning and assessment.
