“We're one of London's major law schools and offer an impressive range of academic and professional courses. We're the first law school in London to educate students and practitioners at all stages of legal education. ”The City Law School
The City Law School offers a number of open days and evenings each year. Some of these are for students who are considering applying to a programme, while others are for those who have already applied or even those who have already been made an offer.
Open days for the undergraduate LLB courses are for students who have already applied and been made an offer. We usually offer two dates, one in March and one in April.
We also participate in the London Taster Day programme, giving prospective undergraduates the opportunity to "try out" a number of subjects before making their application. The Law Taster Day usually runs in March each year. For full details see www.london.ac.uk/tasters.
An open evening for students interested in applying for our postgraduate courses, the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL), Graduate Entry LLB or LLMs, usually takes place in early December each year and allows prospective students to come in and see us in person before making their application.
In addition, we also offer events for those that have already applied and that have been made an offer. This event usually takes place in mid March.
Postgraduate students wanting to see the School at other times are encouraged to contact us directly on +44 (0)20 7040 3309 or law@city.ac.uk to book a personal appointment.
Like the other postgraduate courses, we offer events for both prospective Bar Professional Course (BPTC) and Legal Practice Course (LPC) students, as well as applicants / offerees. Our combined event for prospective students is usually held in early November each year, while our LPC and BVC specific applicant / offeree events are usually held in February each year.
In addition to these main events, we also arrange a number of mini-open days for specific Schools, Colleges, Universities and Societies on Wednesday afternoons during term-time between September and March each year. Email law@city.ac.uk for more information.
Like most legal education providers, we attend a large number of the law fairs each year which are held at other universities and venues around the UK. These events are a great way to get more information on the courses we offer and the services we provide... there are also often a number of pretty good "freebies" to be had at these events too!
The UK Recruitment Office regularly hosts and attends undergraduate and postgraduate recruitment events on behalf of the University and it's schools. In addition, the university regularly host campus tours for prospective students. These are usually held on a Wednesday afternoon and can be booked online in advance.
Our International Office also attend many events each year, meeting with international students and their families, answering questions and providing information on everything form our courses to studying in London / UK.
Within the City Law School and the University, we have very pro-active careers professionals. They provide group and one-to-one advice and host a number of informational and practitioner events each year. Some are for current students, some for prospective students and some are for the general public, but all provide essential, high-quality and informative information.
Throughout the year, The City Law School and City University London hold a wide range of events, some are for the provision of general or specialist information, some provide updates on key areas of research or business and some just offer an evening of networking in good company. Our Events listing will keep you fully informed of all events taking place within the School, and the University's What's On pages will allow you to see event news from other subject areas within City.
