Riccardo joined The City Law School in September 2011 and teaches Contract Law and Criminal Law. He was previously a Lecturer at Kingston University, Law School; he taught Comparative Criminal Justice, EU Law and UK Constitutional and Administrative Law at Cardiff University and was a Supervisor in Law at Cambridge University, Homerton College.

Riccardo completed his LLB at the University of Pavia (Italy) in 2003, and was awarded an LL.M in European Legal Studies from Cardiff University in 2005. He received his PhD degree in Comparative Criminal Justice from Cardiff University in 2009.

Riccardo's areas of research are Comparative Criminal Justice, Criminal Justice and Socio-Legal Studies. He is particularly interested in the concept of legal culture and how crime control agencies respond and adapt to legal and social dynamics in postmodern societies.
