Peter joined The City Law School (formerly known as the Inns of Court School of Law) in 1986. He teaches on the Bar Professional Training Course in the areas of Criminal Litigation & Sentencing, Fraud and Financial Crime (of which he is subject co-ordinator), and Advanced Criminal Litigation. Peter also teaches on the LL.M. in Criminal Litigation, and is the co-ordinator for the Procedure module on that course. He also supervises students on the LL.M. in Professional Legal Skills.
Before he joined the Law School, Peter was in the chambers of Martin Collins QC at 2 Pump Court practising predominantly in criminal work.
He is a contributor to Blackstone's Criminal Practice (Oxford University Press). His other major published work is Criminal Litigation and Sentencing (Routledge-Cavendish, 7th edition, 2009). He also writes in the Criminal Law Review and contributes to The City Law School manuals on: Criminal Litigation & Sentencing, Remedies, Case Preparation & Opinion Writing, and Employment Law.
Peter is an elected member of the University Senate. He is also chair of the Staff Benevolent Fund and a harassment adviser.
