Before coming to City University in 1995, Michael Purdue was a Professor of Law at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne, where he was Head of Department for three years. He has also taught at the Universities of East Anglia, Birmingham and Wales.
His main interest is in public law, where he specialises in planning and environmental law. He is the Editor of the Journal of Planning and Environment Law. He has written several books and is a regular contributor to journals. In particular he is co-author of Sizewell-B: An Anatomy of the Inquiry, Planning Law and Procedure, and Negotiating Development.
