Caitriona Hegarty LLB Hons, LLM Computers and Law, Principal Lecturer
Joined The City Law School (formerly the Inns of Court School of Law) in 1996.
Caitriona graduated with a Masters from Queen’s University, Belfast in 1990.
Caitriona lectures in evidence, case preparation, legal research and company law at the Law School. She is also a qualified teacher in computing and has been a guest lecturer in computer law at Queen’s University, Belfast. She held a post as lecturer in industrial law at Loughborough University before joining the Law School. Caitriona has a particular specialism in legal research and computer technology. She has been a contributor to book reviews and commentary in the International Year Book of Law, Computers and Technology and from 1992-1995 was associate editor of International Yearbook of Law, Computers and Technology.
She has had 3 papers on law and technology presented at conferences: 10th BILETA Conference, A case for the minimal regulations of the internet, 11th BILETA Conference, An Intelligent Tutoring System and at the JURIX Conference in Maastricht, Too Clever by Half. Most recently, Caitriona designed and delivered pilot IT at the Bar training sessions as approved by the Bar Council. She has also compiled a series of training packages for lawyers using the internet.
