What is narrative nonfiction?
This new MA encourages writers to be ambitious and imaginative in their writing. The unifying factor for all writers accepted onto the course will be their intention to deliver their information through the arc of story.
Our definition of narrative nonfiction includes:
- biography | eg. John Grisham, The Innocent Man
- travel | eg. Vikram Seth, From Heaven Lake: Travels Through Sinkiang and Tibet
- history | eg. William Dalrymple, The Last Mughal: The Fall of a Dynasty, Delhi, 1857
- politics | eg. Asne Seierstad, With Their Backs to the World
- true crime | eg. Truman Capote, In Cold Blood
- science | eg. Lisa Jardine, Ingenious Pursuits: Building the Scientific Revolution
- memoir | eg. Michael Holroyd, Basil Street Blues
