City, University of London welcomes applications from Norwegian students. London is a great place for students from Norway to study as it is a global city with virtually every nationality represented in some way.

Entry requirements

City is one of the most ideal institutions for students wanting to study in London. We have a comprehensive selection of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and are in the top 10 universities for graduate starting salaries in the UK.

Entry requirements will vary from course to course and the information on this page is only intended to be a general guide. For individual course requirements, please refer to the course pages, or contact Rolf Jespersen.

Undergraduate

Qualifications from Norwegian high school system are accepted for direct entry. For information on specific course requirements, please email Rolf Jespersen.

International qualifications such as A level and IB are also accepted for direct entry, and details of grades requirements for these qualifications can be found on the course pages.

Students who don’t meet the requirements for direct entry may have the option to undertake our International Foundation programme at INTO City, which then offers the opportunity for guaranteed entry into City’s bachelor programmes.

Postgraduate

Applicants will be considered for most postgraduate courses with a good Norwegian bachelor’s degree from a recognised University. Entry requirements will vary by course for more information about specific course requirements please contact Rolf Jespersen.

Students who don’t meet the requirements for direct entry may have the option to undertake our Graduate Diploma programme at INTO City, which then offers the opportunity for guaranteed entry into City’s Masters programmes

English language requirements

English language requirements will vary from course to course and the information on this page is only intended to be a general guide. For individual course requirements, please refer to the course pages, or contact international@city.ac.uk.

For students requiring visas, a Secure English Language Test (SELT) is usually required. A full list of acceptable English Language qualifications can be found here.

Students who do not meet the English language requirements for their course may have the option to undertake our Pre-sessional English programme at INTO City prior to entry.

Undergraduate

We have a range of partial scholarships available for international students, each based on what qualifications you are studying. The main funding packages for international students are:

Postgraduate

Most courses have partial scholarship schemes and details can be found on each course page. If you cannot see a scholarship on the course page and wish to find out if one is available, please email us at international@city.ac.uk.

There are a number of excellent external scholarship schemes available. The most attractive for international students are:

  • The Chevening Scholarship - Chevening Scholarships are the UK government's global scholarship programme, funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and partner organisations. The Scholarships are awarded to outstanding scholars with leadership potential. Awards are typically for a one-year Master's degree, in any subject and at any of the UK's leading universities.
