City, University of London welcomes applications from Nepali students. London is a great place for students from Nepal to study as it is a global city with virtually every nationality represented in some way.

City Visits

Entry requirements

City is one of the most ideal instituitions for students wanting to study in London. We have a comprehensive selection of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and are in the top 10 universities for graduate starting salaries in the UK.

Entry requirements will vary from course to course and the information on this page is only intended to be a general guide. For individual course requirements, please refer to the course pages, or contact Patrick Douse.

Undergraduate

Qualifications from the Nepali high school system are not accepted for direct entry and so students would be required to undertake our International Foundation programme at INTO City, which then offers the opportunity for guaranteed entry into City’s bachelor programmes

International qualifications such as A level and IB are accepted for direct entry, and details of grades requirements for these qualifications can be found on the course pages.

Postgraduate

Entry requirements will vary by course. For more information about specific course requirements please contact Patrick Douse.

Only students who have taken four-year bachelor courses will be considered or those with a postgraduate degree from Nepal. Applicants may be advised to take a Graduate Diploma at INTO City, University of London in preparation for postgraduate study in the UK. Succesful completion of the Graduate Diploma then offers the opportunity for guaranteed entry into City’s Masters programmes.

English language requirements

All students from Nepal will need to take a recognised English qualification recognised by UKBA for visa purposes, it is not possible to accept English grades in Year XII as proof of English.

Undergraduate

  • IELTS 6.0 is required (IELTS 6.5 for business and social science and IELTS 7.0 for journalism and law courses).
  • PTE is accepted on a case-by-case basis.

Postgraduate

  • IELTS 6.5 is required (IELTS 7.0 for business, journalism and law courses).
  • PTE is accepted on a case-by-case basis.

For students requiring visas, a Secure English Language Test (SELT) is usually required. Find a full list of acceptable tests at English Language qualifications.

Students who do not meet the English language requirements for their course may have the option to undertake our Pre-sessional English programme at INTO City prior to entry.
