Pre-departure briefings

The British Council offers a range of support for new and prospective international students, including pre-departure briefing programmes.

Coming to the UK for the first time can feel like a daunting experience!

The British Council provide information for prospective and current students on their website Education UK and also organise pre-departure briefings to help you prepare for life in the UK.

Topics covered include:

• immigration and passport control
• financial matters
• budgetary planning
• cultural differences

The pre-departure briefings provide an opportunity to meet other students from your country who are studying in the UK or who have recently completed their studies. They normally run throughout July and August.
