Biography
Jacques Chueke graduated in Graphic Design in 1998, and then specialized in Interface Usability, gaining a Master in Design from PUC-Rio in 2005. He's been working for 10 years developing projects for Internet and Software for large companies in Brazil. Jacques has been teaching since 2006 about Interface Usability at PUC-Rio (postgraduate degrees) among other Institutes, before coming to UK. He is also an adjunct teacher in Arts & Design department at PUC-Rio, teaching about Digital Image (vector and bitmap). Has a PgDip from the University of Plymouth, i-DAT Centre (2010). He has now joined our Centre in October of 2010 as a MPhil/PhD student, supervised by Dr George Buchanan and Stephanie Wilson.
Research interests
His research will investigate new forms of interaction within digital interfaces. The project proposes the creation of prototype software solutions to explore novel interface technologies as alternative forms of interaction (e.g. eye tracking, multi-touch, voice command, gesture recognition). The intention of these prototypes is to suggest a different visual feedback displayed by the system that better conveys the experience of interfacing with TUI and NUI and will explore user testing and cognitive aspects of experience design.
