Biography
Konstantinos Zachos joined the Centre as a visiting student in September 2003 to undertake his final project (diploma thesis) as part of the computer science degree at RWTH Aachen - University of Technology in Germany. His research supervised by Prof Neil Maiden aimed to extend the ART-SCENE's web-based Scenario Walkthrough tool with multi-media facilities to explore the effectiveness of such representations within the tool.
In January 2008 he obtained a PhD degree in Software Engineering (specialisation in Service-oriented Requirements Engineering and Creativity). The research focused on developing effective service discovery mechanisms and techniques, building on the Centre's existing requirements engineering research, as part of the EU-funded Framework VI Integrated Project called SeCSE (Service-centric Systems Engineering).
Currently, he is working on (1) the EU-funded Framework VII Network of Excellence called S-CUBE to identify and codify HCI knowledge and use this codified knowledge to deliver service-based systems that are sensitive to user and task characteristics and the wider social context of these users and tasks, and on (2) the EU-funded Framework VII Integrated Project called MIRROR to design and develop creativity theories, models, techniques and tools to reinforce learning and reflection in creative problem solving.
