Knowledge Transfer Partnership

The School of Informatics engages in knowledge transfer through its research centres.

The giCentre works with government, business and research organisations to develop novel ways of understanding the world through data visualization. Recent projects include helping Leicestershire County Council assess and communicate public satisfaction with its services, and enabling climate scientists and insurers to better understand the risks associated with hurricanes.

The Department of Information Science is currently collaborating with Direct Traffic Media and Media Reach in a Technology Strategy Board funded project that aims to overhaul the market for stock images on the web.
