Holidays - Academic Year 2009/2010

1. Christmas 2009 and New Year 2010

The University will be closed from 4.00pm on Thursday 24th December 2009 until 8.00am on Monday 4th January 2010. This allows for three days in addition to the statutory holidays (Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day).

2. Easter

The University will be closed from the evening of Thursday 1st April 2010 until normal working time on Tuesday 6th April 2010.

Where leave is taken over the Easter period, Schools/Departments are to ensure that offices are adequately covered during normal working hours.

3. Bank Holidays

The University will be closed on the following days: Monday 3rd May 2010, Monday 31st May 2010 and Monday 30th August 2010.

4. Buildings

Laboratories will be closed to undergraduates throughout the Christmas/New Year, Easter and Bank Holiday periods, except by prior arrangement with the Head of the Academic Department concerned.

Staff who need to have access to a building during holiday periods should contact the main Security Office on (ext 5581). Out of hours access.

Deans and Heads of Departments are asked to ensure that all members of their staff are notified of these arrangements.
