How do I get to Northampton Square?

By underground

The nearest underground stations are:

• Liverpool Street Station (Metropolitan, Hammersmith & City, District Line and National Rail)
• Angel (Northern Line)
• Barbican (Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan and Circle Line)

From Liverpool Street Station:

Take 205 Bus towards Eastbourne Terrace or Paddington from Bus Stop S. Get off the bus at Central Street/City Road stop. 

Or: Take 153 Bus towards Finsbury Park from Bus Stop C (Sun Street Passage, close to the station shops). Get off the bus at Spencer Street/City University London. 

From Angel station:

You can walk to the Northampton Square, Main University Campus, which will take approximately 5-10 minutes.  

When you come out the Angel Tube Station, turn left. At the traffic lights, turn left onto Goswell Road and keep walking straight ahead until you find Ashby Street (City University London sign) on your right. Take the right onto Ashby Street which will take you to the Main Entrance of the University.   

From Barbican station:

Take 4 Bus towards Archway Station/ Macdonald Road. Get off the bus at Spencer Street/Goswell Road. Or: Take 56 Bus from Stop BA towards Whipps Cross Roundabout. Get off the bus at Spencer Street/Goswell Road.   

You can also walk to the Northampton Square, main University Campus, which will take approximately 10-20 minutes.  

When you come out the Barbican station, turn left and walk along the round. At the roundabout keep walking straight ahead and after the first traffic light, take the second left onto Ashby Street which will take you to the Main Entrance of the University.

By bus

Routes 4, 19, 30, 38, 43, 55, 56, 63, 73, 153, 205, 214, 243, 274, 341. 

By train

Travel by rail to any London terminus and then by underground, by bus, or on foot.

By car

Parking in the roads surrounding the Northampton Square site is at parking meters. The nearest National Car Park to Northampton Square is on Skinner Street, off St John Street. 

Congestion charge

Please note that Northampton Square, Peartree Court, Finsbury and Hayworth Halls of Residence and Saddlers Sports Centre are all within the Congestion Charging Zone. Walter Sickert Hall is outside the Zone.
