Career summary
Qualified as a Paediatric / general nurse in 1992 and since then has worked in Paediatrics / Neonatal nursing in a variety of level 2 and level 3 centres. Specialised in Neonatal Nurse education in 1997 and worked as a Practice educator in Neonatal medical and surgical care for 3 years prior to taking Neonatal lecturing post at City University in 2001. Responsibilities at City include the joint organisation and lead for Neonatal post-registration modules within the School of Nursing and Midwifery CPD portfolio as well as teaching and supervising pre-registration nursing and midwifery students in relation to neonatal care.

Current Research
As part of MA Academic Practice dissertation towards research proposal examining the value of multi media / online teaching tools to teach Neonatal care.
Completed Research
Early Life Mortality Study in East London (Fetal and Infant Death in East London) 2007 - collaborative study with City University / City and Hackney Primary Care Trust. Responsible for setting up and evaluating a database for infant mortality based on a case-note review.
