Applied Biological Sciences

All staff are actively engaged in scholarly activity, and the Department's publication and research profile reflects the above interests and areas of expertise. Staff theoretical expertise and areas of interest include: cardio-respiratory physiology/pathophysiology, clinical monitoring, crowd physiology, physiological response of the human body to stress, genetics, nutritional assessment, weaning and infant nutrition, tissue viability, infection control, developmental biology neurobiology, osteological development, physiological growth and the control of asthma, clinical forensic nursing, women's health, reproductive biology, erectile dysfunction, urology, medicines management, philosophy of science, and the teaching and learning of the biological sciences in nursing and midwifery education.
