City eHealth Research Centre - CeRC
Fast-growing and internationally recognised research centre.
Over the last decade, CeRC has grown to a multidisciplinary eHealth Research Centre collaborating with national and international partners on grants funded by prestigious bodies such as the European Commission, the European Union, the World Health Organisation, and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).
Our team's expertise ranges from computer science (web services, Semantic Web and ontologies), information science (user navigation, web logs, e-communities) to infectious diseases and public health.
Furthermore, we deliver real-world services for medical professionals through the National Resource for Infection Control (NRIC), the National electronic Library of Infection (NeLI), International Scientific Forum on Home Hygiene (IFH), Medicines Support Unit for Optometrists and FEM Wiki enabling direct technology transfer of CeRC user-driven research.
- Research Diversity | eHealth, online educational games in health domain, semantic web for healthcare, evaluation of internet portals for healthcare and community, using Web 2.0 tools for outbreak detection and early warning systems.
- International Collaboration | links with international healthcare institutions, top academic institutions, industry and government bodies.
- Provision of Real-world Healthcare Services | developed the National Resource for Infection Control (NRIC), the National electronic Library of Infection (NeLI), the website of the International Scientific Forum on Home Hygiene (IFH), and related national healthcare services.
