Impact of Disease and Treatments Group

The Impact of Disease and Treatment Group is focused on an increased understanding of the impact of different forms of medical conditions and treatments. Clear evidence as to how medical conditions and treatments including surgery impact on patients is a necessary step in order to improve patient care and outcomes. An examination of comparisons between different treatments for the same condition and interventions to improve outcomes for patients undergoing treatments enables improved interventions to improve patient care. This group focuses on a range of interventions and outcomes ranging from the impact on the brain of surgery through to Quality of Life after periods in intensive care.
