Health Services Research and Management Division
Health Services Research and Management Division (HSRM) draws together three teams . They are drawn together by sharing the common purpose of promoting excellence in research and management.
The teams are:
- Education Development Unit
- Health Management
- Health Services Research
These teams work together collaboratively to lead PhD, Masters, Degree and Foundation level programmes, offer consultancy and deliver a wide diversity of high quality research.
Education Development Unit
The Education Development Unit leads a number of programmes in face to face and online modes. In addition team members work across the School of Health Sciences to support educational development. Research activity is focused upon the student experience and innovation in the education of health professionals.
Health Management
Health Management offers Masters and Foundation Degree level programmes. With an outstanding track record these degree courses provide a thorough grounding in all the major business, policy and leadership skills that managers require in order to prepare them to lead the delivery of a world class health service.
Health Services Research
Health Services Research offers Masters level research degrees to support health practitioners to be evidence based in their approach to health management, education, practice and research:
The current focus of research within the team is health psychology and behavioural medicine, adaptation to and self-management of long term conditions, telehealth and telecare, impact of surgery and medical treatments on cognition and informal care giving.
In addition HSRM offers support to a range of School of Health Sciences courses in relation to the teaching of ethics and law.
