An Afternoon of Screenings and Discussion: Music in the Films of Kiumars Pourahmad

Speaker: Kuimars Pourahmad

Kuimars Pourahmad is a highly acclaimed Iranian film director and music plays a central role in his films.

We will be screening and discussing the following films:

  • 'Be khater-e Hanieh' (For Hannah’s Sake, 1994), music by Mohammad Reza Aligholi
  • 'Khaharan-e Ghareeb' (Estranged Sisters, 1995), music by Naser Cheshmazar.

Brief introductions to the films, the director and the film composers will supplement the screenings, which will be followed with a live internet Q&A with the director.

1.25-1.30pm Introduction to the film
1.30pm Film screening 'For the Sake of Haniyeh'

3.25pmFilm screening 'Strange Sisters'
5.05pmA specially recorded message from the director Kiumars Pourahmad and if technology permits a skype Q&A with the audience.
