City University London's Centre for Creativity in Professional Practice has appointed design, marketing and brand strategist, Patrick Jordan, as a Visiting Professor. In this inaugural lecture Patrick will be examining the role of creativity in improving our quality of life.
Quality of life is a hot topic at the moment, receiving increasing attention from government, academia and other opinion leaders.
This lecture looks at what quality of life is and the role that creativity and innovation can play in improving it.
A model of quality of life will be presented along with examples of the factors that affect it.
We will look at the role that products and services can play in enhancing quality of life and at how creativity and innovation can be used to optimise the design of these.
The presentation will be packed with examples from a range of domains including automotive, consumer electronics, medical, web, mobile, social media, fast moving consumer goods, financial services and public services.
A wide range of creative innovation techniques will be covered and the key principles of creative innovation will be summarised.
Patrick W. Jordan
Patrick is a consultant to many of the world's most successful companies and is Visiting Professor at the Centre for Creativity in Professional Practice at City University London.
Patrick has a PhD in psychology and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine.
He was an advisor to the UK government from 2000-2010.
