Transport Strategy and Systems
Transport professionals increasingly need to be able to lead integrated problem-solving so that their work really contributes to helping people or freight move sustainably. City University London has a strong pedigree in air transport, maritime, civil engineering and other aspects of management and technology education. In recent years, with the establishment of the City Collaborative Transport Hub, the University has fostered research and enterprise projects which integrate and grow our capacity to solve inter-disciplinary problems in transportation. Allied to this the Transport Hub and the School of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences have now launched a new Master of Science course which helps professionals tackle integrated management challenges right across transport.

MSc Transport Strategy and Systems
Watch this video in which Andrew Huddart gives an introduction to the MSc Transport Strategy and Systems:

The Transport Strategy and Systems programme is intended to appeal to two kinds of participant:
- You may already be a specialist in one aspect of transport, and now want to widen your range via new insights into more of the strategic systems on which the sector relies. This would include consideration of energy, financial, information, technological and political systems. Our course will offer you cross-training in these with an emphasis on strategy and inter-linked systems. It will pay special attention to the discipline of Programme Management. Your next move after the course could be to seek promotion and become a senior consultant or programme manager.
- Or you may currently be a professional generalist, perhaps a new consultant or a commercial or engineering graduate. You have relevant work experience that shows you have chosen to follow a transport vocation. You would benefit from immersion in the sector. This course can help underpin a strong focus for your new career direction and support you to profit by mastering many dimensions of transportation at the same time. Your next move after the course could be to take up a key position in a transport-oriented practice alongside specialist peers. Your main aim would then be to generate extra value through better management of transport programmes (on the client side or as a provider of external advice).
